Minutes of the meeting of the Advisory Board held on 12th Feb. - Members attended:

Governance. a. Formation of Advisory board: criteria, roles of responsibilities, relationship with the CIOSA board. And deciding responsibilities for each advisory member. Key Decision points: i. The current advisory board to continue for another year ii. The board will have 15 members> of which 10 will be NGOs, 3 individuals and 2 corporates iii. 10 members will be from different communities of practice. They will be elected by the members of each CoP iv. 50 % of the members will retire from the board every year. v. No members will in the advisory board of consecutive years. vi. The board will meet minimum 6 times in year vii. The board will have the convener. And it was decide to nominate Karthick Venkatesh as the convener of the Advisory board. viii. Convener will represent the Advisory board in the CIOSA trustees meeting. The convener will set the agenda for the advisory board meetings ix. Ms.Usha sridar suggested that one retired govt officer can be part of the advisory board on invitation. Roles and responsibility: a. Admitting new members b. Plan, budget and Review the work of CIOSA c. Decide on the events and programme d. CoP representatives in the advisory will take active responsibility for the members in that particular CoP. CIOSA membership: i. New members should be recommended by the Advisory board ii. One year from the registration iii. Should submit Audited statement of accounts iv. Should have applied for 80G,12 A v. Membership fee Rs 750 for NGOs, Rs 500 for individual and Rs 5000 for corporate.(Focus on small corporate and ask them to become ciosa corporate member) vi. Members should attend minimum of programme to be a member. This will be decided during CoP meetings vii. Credibility alliance norms should be adhered to participate in CIOSA business alliance and other fund raising initiatives. viii. Create a CSR group. 2. Capacity building: Topics for Capacity building for next 6 months. Dates and venues. Suyam uma suggested that value based training(jeevan vidhya) should be given to members. 1.Feb 18th –orientation of Jeevan Vidhya at stenographer guild, T.nagar at 5pm.interested members can participate. · Retreat for member in April · One day work shop on Nonviolent communication by CSIM in the month of March · Translation of Jeevan Vidhya in tamil and doing programmes in tamil by July · Leadership programmes will be taken after july. · Workshop on Disaster management by TISS in march by Udhavum Ullangal. Date will be decided on18th Feb 3. CoP strengthening a. Advisory members should take more active role in strengthening CoPs b. CoPs should meet every month. i. Child care CoP will be convened by Susai Raj, Jeeva Jyothi ii. Women, CSIM and SET iii. Community To be decided iv. Health: Yet to decide v. Geriatric Care: Suggested, Mr Gopalan Akshaya vi. Disability care: Aikya and Chidambaranathan. vii. Training and Employment Ramasamy, Stenographers Guild. c. Advocacy i. As a long term goal welfare board for grass root social workers ii. EB concession for homes and special schools. iii. Other issues will be discussed in the CoP meetings d. Network for grass root workers: More study need to be done. Will check with Haryana welfare board. 4. Fund raising. a. CIOSA business Alliance: i. CIOSA will continue get more corporate support. Will select 10 projects and give maximum publicity to the projects ii. CIOSA will help members get Government projects. Advisory board members representing CoPs will recommend projects and CIOSA will interface with the government. b. Online payment gateway Advisory members felt we should do it. Members wanting to register should pay Rs 1000 and adhere to credibility nomrs 9% to 10 % on the transaction will be charged by CIOSA for administration purpose. 5. Member relationship services. (volunteers for all the below) a. Newsletter: E newsletter will be done by CSIM and members will give collect news. 6. Seva Mela: The concept of Seva Mela should be redesigned to get more public participation, for this we can discuss with event management cos. We should do one signature event tie up with college, eg loyola. CIOSA should find ways to get stalls in the exhibition in island gronds. |
